INSPIRING A GENERATION OF WORLD CHANGERS
We're a community of missionaries who are serving, growing, and laughing together in Greater Vancouver. We're passionate about knowing God and making God known. We embrace the calling to share the story of God's love to people groups who have never heard the Gospel. We work to see God's kingdom fully expressed to the least reached, and the cities of the world.
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Vancouver began in 1972 when Uli Korstch pioneered a new ministry on the West Coast of Canada. The Dilaram House was the YWAM expression from 1975 to 1980, ministering to backpackers, hippies, and world travelers.
We continued to take shape throughout the 1980s and 1990s. In the early 2000s, we began to offer Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) to young people who were hungry to know more about God. We serve God faithfully and joyfully in Vancouver and will continue to do so for many years to come!
WHAT DO WE DO?
We equip young people to fulfill the calling that God has placed on their lives.
We share the Gospel and serve God's people locally and globally.
We have long-term ministries to meet the needs of Vancouver and our communities.
WHAT ARE OUR VALUES?
Christians are called to love their neighbours as themselves [Mark 12:31] and at YWAM Vancouver we believe that loving our neighbours includes creating justice.
Women and men both reflect God’s image, yet all over the world women are suffering from violence and discrimination.
Access to clean water is essential to human survival, and yet today people still don’t have access to safely managed drinking water.
Humans have basic needs and rights fundamental to survival, and yet resources are shared unequally across the world.
